Complementary colors are WINNING in this shoot!

When Elle reached out to me, it was clear she was artsy and had connected with my aesthetic - that connection means so much, to someone like myself-an artist who likes to experiment and find a creative viewpoint. There are a lot of photographers to choose from, and a lot of talent, and any true artist knows what it’s like to be passed over. But, one of the things that I love about photography (drawing/painting many mediums also work in this scenario!) is this: if you drop 5 photographers in the same field, with the same model-each of them will create a unique image even given the same tools. Each viewpoint is unique.

Art is a gift.

Getting the opportunity to connect with high school seniors is a blast.

When you’re about to graduate, everyone is asking, “so, what are you going to do?” or “where are you going to school?”. Some people have a plan they’ve been working towards for a few years and some are still deciding what’s next. The longer I live, the more I know that we are ALL just figuring life out one step at a time. I love hearing about these seniors’ interests, hobbies, and future ideas.

We can get bogged down with obstacles and disappointments at any time, but life is rich with experience and opportunities if we are seeking them out.

I am getting Julia Garner vibes from this one!

The middle photo above is giving me Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Moms are often the background stylists, makeup, wardrobe-they’re the on set hands that we need on senior shoots. After seeing the photos, Elle’s Mom said, “She looks strong and confident - ready to take on the world.”

I agree. 😊
